Tentative Budget
Business Manager Bud Martin presented the
2010-2011 Tentative Budget at last night’s
meeting. He explained that a budget is
nothing more than a spending plan and is a
very speculative document. Historical data,
experience, and current data is used to
estimate revenue and expenditures. The
tentative budget will be revised over the
next 30 days as more information is received
from the state and federal government. This
year is particularly difficult to predict
due to increased uncertainties about state
funding. Revenue in all funds is estimated
to be $68,660,616—down from $71,799,534 in
09-10. A $2.6 million deficit is
predicted. The final budget will be adopted
at the next meeting scheduled for September
22, 2010—7:00 p.m. at Baldwin School Round
Room.
