ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Early Childhood is a collaboration of three programs: Head Start, Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K), and Early Childhood Special Education.  Students qualify through having an economically disadvantaged family income, are at-risk of progressing academically, and/or demonstrate a disability.  Children must be three years of age by September 1st of the year entering, unless the child has disability.  Children with disabilities are eligible on their third birthday.  Students attend half-days Monday-Thursday, with an option for a small number of 4-year-olds to attend all day.

  • Curriculum emphasizes the following areas: Personal and Social, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Thinking, Social Studies, The Arts, Physical, Life Skills.
  • Strong family Involvement is a key component of our program.  Families receive two home visits from classroom staff per year, and at least two from Family Support Specialists.  Every family signs a Family Partnership Contract and is encouraged to volunteer as often as they can.
  • Transportation is provided by the program from "door-to-door" and buses will transport students to daycare , as well as their home.
